The benefits of thanksgiving (part 2) || Gratitude key to the wealthy place

The benefits of thanksgiving (part 2) || Gratitude key to the wealthy place

James 1:17 New International Version 17  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down

from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

It is expected. Jeremaih 13:16 NLT Give glory to the Lord your God before it is too late.

Acknowledge him before he brings darkness upon you, causing you to stumble and fall on the

darkening mountains. For then, when you look for light, you will find only terrible darkness and

gloom.

Luke 17: 14-16 Taking a good look at them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” They

went, and while still on their way, became clean. One of them, when he realized that he was

healed, turned around and came back, shouting his gratitude, glorifying God. He kneeled at

Jesus’ feet, so grateful. He couldn’t thank him enough—and he was a Samaritan.

TPT 15 One of them, a Samaritan, when he discovered that he was completely healed, turned

back to find Jesus, shouting out joyous praises and glorifying God. 16 When he found Jesus, he

fell at his feet and thanked him over and over, saying to him, “You are the Messiah.”

Genesis 32:10 New International Version

I am unworthy of all the kindness and faithfulness you have shown your servant. I had only my

staff when I crossed this Jordan, but now I have become two camps.

Genesis 32:10 New Living Translation

10 I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant.

When I left home and crossed the Jordan River, I owned nothing except a walking stick. Now

my household fills two large camps

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 New Living Translation

17  He did all this so you would never say to yourself, ‘I have achieved this wealth with my

own strength and energy.’  18  Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you

power to be successful, to fulfill the covenant, he confirmed to your ancestors with an

oath.

Luke 18: 10-14 10 “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other

was a despised tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer[a]: ‘I

thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not

like that tax collector! 12 I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’

13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he

prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a

sinner.’ 14 I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For

those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be

exalted.”

Two Benefits of having a thankful heart.

Leviticus 7:11-21

Psalm 116:17 I will offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord

Psalm 50:14-15 New International Version 14  “Sacrifice thank offerings to God,

fulfill your vows to the Highest, 15  and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you

will honor me.”

Hosea 14:2 AMPC Take with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, take away

all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously; so, will we render [our thanks] as

bullocks [to be sacrificed] and pay the confession of our lips.

Hebrews 13:15 New King James Version 15  Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice

of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Psalm 95:2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song

Gratitude or gratefulness is so powerful because it is a door opener – that is it a major key.

What key is to your car is what thanksgiving is to your prayers. Until a door/gate is opened, you

don’t know what is there for you.

1 Samuel 1:21–28, 1 Samuel 2:1-2,5,21

“My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my

enemies; I rejoice because you rescued me.

5.Those who were well fed are now starving, and those who were starving are now full.

The childless woman now has seven children, and the woman with many children wastes away

21. 21  And the Lord blessed Hannah, and she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two

daughters. Meanwhile, Samuel grew up in the presence of the Lord.

1 Kings 3:15 Then Solomon woke up and realized it had been a dream. He returned to

Jerusalem and stood before the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, where he sacrificed burnt offerings

and peace offerings. Then he invited all his officials to a great banquet.

2 Chronicles 9:13-29 22 King Solomon was richer and wiser than any other king in the

world. 23 They all consulted him, to hear the wisdom that God had given him. 24 Each of them

brought Solomon gifts—articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons, spices, horses, and mules.

This continued year after year.

1 Kings 8:62-66 Amplified Bible (AMP)

62  Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices to the Lord.  63  Solomon offered to

the Lord a peace offering of 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep and goats. And so the king and all

the people of Israel dedicated the Temple of the Lord.

65  Then Solomon and all Israel celebrated the Festival of Shelters [a]  in the presence of

the Lord our God. A large congregation had gathered from as far away as Lebo-hamath in the

north and the Brook of Egypt in the south. The celebration went on for fourteen days in

all—seven days for the dedication of the altar and seven days for the Festival of

Shelters. [b]   66  After the festival was over, [c]  Solomon sent the people home. They blessed the king

and went to their homes joyful and glad because the Lord had been good to his servant David

and to his people Israel.

1 Kings 9:2 The Lord’s Response to Solomon

2  Then the Lord appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had done before at

Gibeon.  3  The Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your petition. I have set this

Temple apart to be holy—this place you have built where my name will be honored forever. I will

always watch over it, for it is dear to my heart.

Jesus gave thanks Mark 14:22-24 New International Version (communion has since been on the

increase for 2000 years

22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and

gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.” 23 Then he took a cup, and when he

had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24 “This is my blood of the[a]

covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them.

Jeremiah 33:10-11 New International Version

10  “This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people

or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited

by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more  11  the sounds of joy and

gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank

offerings to the house of the Lord, saying,

“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty,

    for the Lord is good;

    his love endures forever.”

For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.

Jeremiah 33:10-11 New Living Translation

10 “This is what the Lord says: You have said, ‘This is a desolate land where people and

animals have all disappeared.’ Yet in the empty streets of Jerusalem and Judah’s other towns,

there will be heard once more 11 the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of

bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing

thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing,

‘Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures

forever!’

For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord.

Jeremiah 33:10-11 The Message

10-11 “Yes, God’s Message: ‘You’re going to look at this place, these empty and desolate towns

of Judah and streets of Jerusalem, and say, “A wasteland. Unlivable. Not even a dog could live

here.” But the time is coming when you’re going to hear laughter and celebration, marriage

festivities, people exclaiming, “Thank God-of-the-Angel-Armies. He’s so good! His love never

quits,” as they bring thank offerings into God’s Temple. I’ll restore everything that was lost in this

land. I’ll make everything as good as new.’ I, God, say so.

Hebrews 3:19 King James Version 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of

unbelief.
